The international aviation industry utilizes two completely separate code structures managed by distinct regulatory bodies.

Geographically Decoding a 4-Letter ICAO Code
Unlike IATA codes, which function as simple textual abbreviations, ICAO codes act as structured geographic coordinates. The first two characters tell a pilot exactly where on Earth the aircraft is positioned:
- First Character (Regional Identifier): Points to a specific continent or major oceanic tracking zone. For example,
